Yes, this the week we would have witnessed the brand new Zandvoort circuit for the first time after a long time. It was the most awaited track to experience for the year. the heavily banked corner had so many anticipations in challenging the drivers.
It was closed earlier due to noise pollution to the surrounding and though tracks were made shorter to reduce pollution, the company maintaining the track broke and made it never available to the Formula one.

Track details are approximate as drivers are yet to explore with 2020 cars. Sectors are approximately divided based on the time taken to cover the entire track.

Track has sanddune characteristic of going up and down through out the lap.
Track has three straights with pit stop straight being the longest one of 678 meters. Every corner starting from Tarzan corner, sweeping Esses , ending parabolica seems to pose a challenge to the drivers.

Sector 1( Turn 1 to turn 7)
Lap starts from near end of the longest straight of the track . Turn 1 , Tarzan U corner could be the challenging corner of all and critical point for overtakes after long straight. After a kink of turn 2 , comes a banked tight U mid speed corner. There is a huge elevation change drivers must position to sway through the following eases turn 4 to turn 6 . Sector ends with Hig speed right hander turn 7.

Sector 2 ( Turn 8 to turn 10 )
Sector 2 starts with hard right hander and leads to continous right and left mid speed corners turn 9 and turn 9 . sweeping a left hander turn 10 leads to the first DRS zone of the lap.

Sector 3 ( Turn 11 to turn 14)
a low speed turn 11 and U turn 12 , probably acts as a chicane ,it sets a critical point for the overtakes at the end of the straight. after a short straight through turn 13 , it leads to the iconic parabolic of the circuit. New corner is banked at 18 degrees to make 2020 cars able to corner. Banked corners help in utilising centripetal force to add up to the downforce. Wider track also opens opportunity to overtakes and challenging start finish straight ahead.

In overall , track is filled with challenging mid speed and high speed corner, combined with sanddune structure, it is gonna be a roller coster effect to drivers.
